Description
A Peer Mentor is an experienced inmate who shows positive thinking and behavior. They help other inmates make better choices and model “right living” inside the prison.

Length of Program
Three Sessions

Eligibility
• Are serving a long sentence (priority for life or long-term sentences) • Have no prison charges in the past two years • Follow grooming and bed rules • Show positive thinking and behavior • Demonstrate leadership and empathy • Communicate well in writing and speaking • Can lead groups and hold peers accountable • Are approved by staff to be a peer mentor
