What is the salary for the position for which I have applied?
See the Department's Vacancy List which lists the salary range for each vacancy. The salary is negotiable within the 21 step range identified for the position. Exceptional salary decisions are based upon prior experience related to the position and past salary history.
Where may I get a State application?
Virginia Employment Commission Offices, any Corrections facility, or office. You may also download (from external website) a State Application.
May I be placed on your mailing list for the Department of Corrections' Vacancy List?

Can a resume be substituted for the State application?
Resumes generally may not be substituted for a State application unless otherwise indicated in the job advertisement.
I forgot to sign my application. Will you accept my application without my signature?
Applications without signatures or which do not have original signatures may be accepted, but must be signed at the time of interview.
May I submit one application for two or more vacancies?
NO. An application must be submitted for each vacancy for which one chooses to apply.
I want to apply for more than one position. May I make copies of my original application and simply change the position number and job title?
YES. However, each application should have an original signature.
