INSTITUTIONAL PHYSICIAN
Salary Range:
$83,542 - $130,430

Duties:
Renders professional medical care and treatment to the physical ill inmates of the institution. Holds sick call, makes rounds as required, visits cell houses, confinement areas as required and performs minor surgery and related treatment as injuries or minor illnesses arise. Required to do physicals on inmates and may be required to do physicals on employees. Makes periodical revisions of medical care and treatment as practices change and as deemed necessary. To be available to the institution for emergencies when they arise.

Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited medical college and completion of an approved residency in a medical specialty and a license to practice medicine in Virginia. Incumbent must have specialty in surgical skills.

DENTIST
Salary Range:
$58,498 - $91,324

Duties:
Performs oral examinations, charts needed dental treatment, prepares carious lesions and restores with appropriate materials. Performs extractions and carries out routine dental care.

Qualifications:
Graduation from a recognized School of Dentistry and a license to practice dentistry in the State of Virginia.

REGISTERED NURSE
Salary Range:
$37,470 - $58,498

Duties:
Holds daily sick call. Listens to complaints, examines and evaluates inmates' health. Refers inmates to physician for further examination when necessary. Documents actions taken in the offender's medical record, notes assessment, etc. Orders over-the-counter and prescription drugs from Central and local pharmacies. Holds pill call, administers drugs, and maintains log of medications given.

Qualifications:
Working knowledge of principles and practices of professional nursing. Working skill in administering medications and providing treatment. Licensed or eligible for licensure as an RN by the Virginia Board of Nursing. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Some experience in providing general professional nursing.

CORRECTIONS NURSE TECHNICIAN (LPN)
Salary Range:
$27,434 - $42,827

Duties:
Provides direct care, treatment and related services for those inmates incarcerated in an adult institution. Conducts screening of inmates with health complaints, administers prescribed medications, initiates first aid measures, documents patient care, and assists physician. Compiles and distributes medications for pill call in compliance with medical protocol and agency/institutional procedures to policy. Ensures good working conditions by inspecting and documenting emergency equipment and supplies.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Current Virginia license or eligibility for licensure in the state of Virginia. CPR Certification. Graduation from an accredited licensed practical school of nursing.

PSYCHOLOGIST
Salary Range:
$37,470 - $58,498

Duties:
Provides mental health services to inmates, including crisis intervention, psychological assessment and evaluation, individual and group therapy, treatment planning and psychoeducational services, under the supervisi8on and directions of Psychologist Senior. Screens, tracks, and monitors inmates with mental health service needs, in general population and in special housing. May be involved in the development, implementation and monitoring of mental health services, policies and programs at the facility. May be involved with special units or programs. May serve as consultant to administration, security and treatment staff. Provides in-service training.

Qualifications:
Master's degree in clinical or counseling psychology from a regionally accredited university or college preferred. Master's degree in related human services field may be considered. Knowledge of mental disorders, diagnostic nomenclature, and intervention approaches appropriate for a correctional population. Assessment and evaluation skills, including competency to administer, score and interpret standard IQ tests, personality inventories, and projective tests. Skills and experience in crisis intervention, individual and group therapy. Ability to establish and maintain interpersonal working relationships adequate to accomplish these functions.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a correctional, forensic, or mental services setting.
